How many new wildfire resistant designs
and products are available?

No one knows, so we’re going to find out with Wildfire Safe Housesm and Trial By Fire® services designed to encourage education and training, through organized competitions, in designing homes and other structures to be reasonably safe from fire.

It’s time to jump-start an initiative to improve these building codes. Rockwood & Noziska LLP—a civil litigation law firm specializing in construction defect, insurance coverage, and product liability—is behind this first-of-its-kind challenge open to architects, chemists, manufacturers, schools, and building industry professionals.

The intent is to spark new thinking and generate new products, methods, designs, and technologies that can be adopted by the architectural and construction industry for application in wildfire potential areas.

With this in mind, Wildfire Safe House will:

• Collect and evaluate the latest wildfire-resistive building products, subjecting finalists to a controlled Trial By Fire®—a controlled Hollywood-like fire storm, covered by the news media and/or depicted on a reality-based cable TV program.

• Develop a curriculum and contractor training program in the proper use and application of these wildfire safe products and techniques—for both existing and new structures.

• Establish a university-level architectural design competition, where new and innovative wildfire safe designs are considered and tested.

Creating such public interest and market awareness will create a unique competitive advantage for developers that adopt and integrate these fire safe wining products.
Consumers can identify tested,
wildfire-resistive products by this seal.

A Trial By Fire
Finalists are proven in a Trial By Fire®— a controlled Hollywood-like
fire storm used to test the theories under simulated wildfire conditions.

Our objectives—

• Stimulate the economy and building industry through the manufacture, sale, and application of these new wildfire resistant products to existing houses and new houses—including entire housing developments.

• Prevent the number of future houses burned, thus reducing the financial impact to insurers and homeowners.

• Free-up resources for firefighters to fight wildfires, instead of standing-fast to protect so many neighborhoods.

• Help the environment: fighting fewer burning buildings and less reconstruction preserves natural resources.

Now’s the time, and we need your help—

There isn’t time to expect slow moving, cash-strapped government bureaucracy to fix the problem. It’s time for the people to protect the people. With climate change, drought, and urban sprawl affecting the entire Southwestern US, the sooner we reach our objectives, the better.

Will you endorse us, support us financially, and by extension, be helping every neighborhood and business at risk of wildfire?
