No one knows, so we’re going to find out with Wildfire Safe House^sm and Trial By Fire^® services designed to encourage education and training, through organized competitions, in designing homes and other structures to be reasonably safe from fire.

It’s time to jump-start an initiative to improve these building codes. Rockwood & Noziska LLP—a civil litigation law firm specializing in construction defect, insurance coverage, and product liability—is behind this first-of-its-kind challenge open to architects, chemists, manufacturers, schools, and building industry professionals.

The intent is to spark new thinking and generate new products, methods, designs, and technologies that can be adopted by the architectural and construction industry for application in wildfire potential areas.

With this in mind, Wildfire Safe House will:

• Collect and evaluate the latest wildfire-resistive building products, subjecting finalists to a controlled Trial By Fire^®—a controlled Hollywood-like fire storm, covered by the news media and/or depicted on a reality-based cable TV program.

• Develop a curriculum and contractor training program in the proper use and application of these wildfire safe products and techniques—for both existing and new structures.

• Establish a university-level architectural design competition, where new and innovative wildfire safe designs are considered and tested.
